Almost 10 months

October 10, 2008 by Ladybug's Mama

At nearly ten months old, Ladybug has:

  • Had her first cold
  • Started school
  • Been to Chicago again
  • Eaten “circle oat cereal”
  • Had pinkeye and a double ear infection.

That last one is today.  Poor little one is having a rough day.  She’s a real trooper though!

    • Thanksgiving Countdown: Brussels Sprouts November 15, 2009
I've met a lot of people who claim they hate brussels sprouts. • Tofu Footprint November 4, 2009
The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization has estimated that meat production accounts for nearly a fifth of global greenhouse gas emissions.   So about a year ago Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change suggested that we forgo meat one day a week to do our part.   There may be health benefits beyond the en […]

    • Serve the Community or Serve the Individual October 27, 2009
I know that as a library, we are here to serve the community. But on a day-to-day basis, I don’t work with the community, I work with individual people. Are the two mutually-exclusive? This is all just rhetorical thinking on my part, but two interactions this month brought this dichotomy to light and got me thinking about it. Situation 1 In my library, patro […]
